Hidden labels. Visible and invisible scars. Personal and societal uncertainties.
As part of the Design Project course, Master’s students at Media University Berlin, in collaboration with Nora Bibel, explored stigma as both a social and visual phenomenon. The resulting photographic investigations engage with the complexity of identity, exclusion, and visibility. Complementary individual texts expand the visual narratives, giving deeper meaning to the specific images.
Isn’t the word stigma itself already stigmatized?
These works question labels, reveal specificities, celebrate uniqueness – and invite us to challenge what we take for granted.
Visitors have the opportunity to talk with some of the artists during our Art Talks on sundays at 3 PM.
The exhibition runs from July 25 to August 31, 2025, open daily from 11 AM to 10 PM.
Access to the photo installations is included with the regular Teufelsberg admission.
